As the President of the (ACHCPS), Mr. Doan Patrick Cleare is dedicated to advancing reform and promoting excellence within the correctional system. His leadership focuses on fostering collaboration among professionals in the field, advocating for innovative practices, and enhancing the overall effectiveness of correctional services. Under his guidance, ACHCPS aims to create a supportive network that empowers members to implement progressive changes that benefit both staff and the communities they serve.
The Virgin Islands Bureau of Corrections (BOC) is pleased to announce that Director Wynnie Testamark has been elected Vice-President of the esteemed Association of Caribbean Heads of Corrections and Prison Services. Director Testamark was selected during the association’s annual meeting, in recognition of her exceptional leadership and commitment to elevating correctional standards across the Caribbean region.
Mr. Nicklon Elliot, Secretary of the ACHCPS, leverages over 20 years of prison management expertise. As Acting Director of Prisons in Guyana, he has driven significant upgrades and modernizations within the Guyana Prison Service. His leadership in professional development, human rights, and legislative advocacy highlights his commitment to ACHCPS’s mission across the Caribbean.
Ms. Keeva Joell-Benjamin, Treasurer of the ACHCPS, brings 30 years of experience in the Bermuda Department of Corrections. As Commissioner, she oversees three housing facilities, ensuring safe custody and effective rehabilitation. Her dedication to public safety, professional development, and leadership has significantly enhanced the corrections field. As the first female Commissioner of Bermuda's Department of Corrections, Ms. Joell-Benjamin's commitment to empowering inmates and upholding the Department's core values is unparalleled.
Mr. Carlos Corraspe, Assistant Treasurer of the ACHCPS, brings over 35 years of extensive experience in the prison service1. He has held various roles within the Administrative, Operational, and Programmes branches, and is currently the Acting Commissioner of Prisons1. His focus on public safety, crime prevention, and rehabilitation of offenders highlights his dedication to transforming the corrections system1. Mr. Corraspe's leadership and commitment to addressing longstanding issues make him a valuable asset to the ACHCPS.
Mrs. Kerrice Saunders-Bernard, Public Relations Officer of the ACHCPS, represents Anguilla with dedication and commitment. Her role involves promoting the association's initiatives, enhancing public awareness, and fostering positive communication between member countries. Mrs. Saunders-Bernard's efforts are crucial in advancing the mission of the ACHCPS and ensuring that the public is well-informed about the organization's goals and achievements.
